Morecambe FC
I feel extremely gutted that Morecambe were unable to capitalize on the success they had during the early part of the season . The final score of 6-0 dashed the hopes of ending the season on a terrific high. I wish.Dagenham continuing success at Wembley. However, on Thursday evening Morecambe play their final match at Christie Park, but hopes of renewed success at the Globe Stadium. On Saturday we enjoyed warm weather on Morecambe Day, local children seemed to enjoy the entertainment provided especially the music and the dressed up children's characters.

Arndale Morecambe.
It is such a shame to see yet another business close.within the town. Lewis cafe within the Arndale Shopping Centre closed this week leaving yet another empty shop unit. I am really looking forward to Saturday 14/05/20, which is Morecambe Day, hopefully there will be lots to entertain both the locals and visitors to the town.

LEAGUE CHAMPIONS MORECAMBE ELECTION
Congratulations to Chelsea for winning the Championship. I hope that Morecambe can equal this success with a victory over Dagenham in the play -offs. With regards to the recent Election results for the Morecambe constituency, i feel that Geraldine Smith should be given recognition for the positive contribution that she made towards the town.

The Future of Morecambe.

What do we want for the future of our town. Glorious views and plenty of amenities or we could have flats and shops and more flats.
Tourism is our future as it has been our past. Tourism will only exist if we have something to attract people-more people are taking short breaks in this country. city breaks for theatres and restaurants.
We could have good shows and events we already have some fine restaurants.
We need many theatres for cultural events: plays, musical venues for the arts, musical events and festivals ( eat your heart out Pilton). We need a strong cultural base or alternatively we could knock down our theatres and build flats, shops and more flats.

The Election in Morecambe Lancs
There is a great sense of anticipation around the town regarding the Election and whether the Labour Candidate Geraldine Smith will able to successfully defend her seat within the town. Despite the inclement weather we hoping that the Electoral turnout will be very high. I feel it will be very interesting to see how the successful candidate will influence the local debates regarding the proposed M6 Bypass and the significant influence that Urban Splash is exerting with it,s proposed seafront development. Additionally I hope the successful candidate will have a sense of vision despite the economic downturn with regards to the future regeneration of Morecambe. I personally feel that the newley appointed MP should also strive to encourage a sense of urgencey regarding the future development of the Winter Gardens, as at present the progress has been painfully slow.
